Elomedia Doctoral Program

Elomedia - Doctoral Program of Cinema and Audiovisual Media is a national research project financed by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The Doctoral Program has educated researchers in audiovisual media since 1998. The current Program is called Elomedia 4 (2010-2013).

The work Elomedia carries out in practice-based audiovisual research makes it a leading pioneer on this particular field. Research areas in Elomedia are film, television, animation and gaming industry, media art and other audiovisual cultural and content production, regardless of distribution channels or formats. Doctoral theses in Elomedia can include artistic productions or product development projects.

The alliance of practice-based research and traditional science ensures that Elomedia has exceptionally good circumstances to produce broadly qualified specialists in the field of audiovisual media and to generate research-led, commercial, technological and content-based audiovisual innovations. Elomedia’s approach to research is multidisciplinary and covers the audiovisual field from various points of view: commerce, technology, social sciences, humanities and arts.
